Opening a florist without experience or cilentele is not what I would suggest. I have seen experienced florists opening shops and be out of business. They depended on the wire services to bring them business, but the low profits were not enough to sustain the business.

It is much easier to start a flower business niche, focusing on just one field. Weddings, garden plants, fresh cut orchids potted orchids. If in the past it was enough to be in a good location, more and more the business is generated from internet searches.

I have seen a few people losing their savings opening or buying flower shops without the proper research and with false expectations.
