Hi my name is Victoria. I am currently going in to my second year of university majoring in psychology. I gained a sudden interest in going Into the fieldwork of floral design and eventually I want to open up a family business of a floral shop. I want to know what schooling I need to make this happen? If I should discontinue with majoring in psychology in order to proceed to learn more about floral design? And how long does the process of schooling take till I can open my own floral business aswell as what good schooling qualifications are needed and do I need a business licence?

What is your family saying, since you mention a floral family business?

Learning flower design requires non just school,also the creativity spark. Some have it, some don't. The best way is hands on, and researching flower businesses in your area.

Florist businesses are risky, and I suggest to find the niche within the flower business.

Concentrate on one thing. Parties and Weddings.

Orchid shop. Plant shop. Only roses shop!

No schooling qualifications are needed to open a flower business, and a business licence is required by most states.

In today's economy, the best way to open any business is to create a business website in advance. Create demand before you open a shop.
