Learning the Art of Floral Design requires direct experience.

After learning different philosophies and watching demonstrations, there is nothing else more satisfying than to create your own flower design.

I remember back in 1986, attempting to create my first flower arrangement. I gave up. I tried again, and failed. Eventually through the years I learned this beautiful art.

Lucky me that my partner Keiko Nakamura had incredible design talents.

We became South Florida pioneers in the emerging USA dried flower business that was flourishing thanks to new techniques of preservation and the Victorian Country popularity of the 80's.

Keiko designs were unique. From the joy of designing with flowers, it became for us a business. "A gentle way to make money"

Miami Flower Design Classes

Miami Flower Design classes are available at YOLA GUZ's School of Floral Design.

Our curriculum includes three (3) different levels of Floral Design Courses:

1. Beginners,
2. Intermediate,
   
3. Advanced.

As a student at our design school you'll receive hands-on instruction in small class sizes where you will get individualized attention so you can develop the skills necessary to succeed as a career floral designer.

Observe nature. She is the greatest teacher. In Ikebana, silence is essential to create that state.

Connie, my great designer and friend, says that each design should be approached with the following attitude:

(Treat flowers like little children.) Each material you use becomes something special. It's placement has a natural feel and ultimately convey to the observer certain ecstatic feelings.

Creating your own flower arrangement should not intimidate you, because it is a journey of discovery.

It is a craft, and from it, art is born.

Floral Designs Pictures

We all get inspired by creativity and your floral designs pictures submissions are welcome and appreciated. You can write a story too. If you do it you can proudly say that your designs are in the top 2% sites in the world.

Every long journey begins with a small step.

Flower Designing is no exception.

My wish is to share the joy, peace and satisfaction that comes from creating your own flower design.
